Ancient Coinage of Corinth

[Ravel 1008]

Corinth, a great city-state of Southern Greece.

The female portrait on the reverse of famous Colt staters of Corinth has traditionally been called Athena, but recent scholarship has changed the prevailing opinion in favor of her being an image of Aphrodite.
