363-366 AD. After the death of Julian II in 363 AD, it was rumoured that Procopius, one of his relatives and campaign commanders, had been named successor but the army selected Jovian. Three years later, when Valens was in power, Procopius and his dwindling army tried to confront Valens, but he was captured after the battle of Nacolia in Summer 366 and executed.
