Diademed, draped  and cuirassed bust right  / VOT V in  two lines in laurel
wreath; •C•Ć. RIC IX 13e.12; RSC 14d. Good VF. Very rare.($1250)

A fascinating coin that is overstruck on a siliqua of Constantius II from
Antioch. On the obverse, you can identify the following: 1) above
Procopius’ head is the bottom of Constantius’ bust and his left shoulder,
2) above IVS P F, on the very edge of the coin, you can read D N CONS. On
the reverse you can identify the following: 1) under VOT V and within the
wreath you can make out VOTIS XX MVLTIS XXX, shifted slightly to the left
and starting under the left side of the wreath, 2) below the mint mark,
almost off the flan, is the remains of the original mint mark •ANT[•]. The
host coin, RIC VIII 184, was struck between 355 and 361 AD.
