Head of Persephone left, wreathed with grain leaves, in triple-pendant earring & pearl necklace / OPONTIW-N, Ajax the Lesser advancing right, brandishing sword & shield with palmette & griffin ornaments on interior, star in lower right field, broken spear behind hero's legs. Gulbenkian 491. Superior to the Gulbenkian specimen, which is double struck on the reverse. Of exceptionally fine style, & wonderfully detailed on both sides. Iridescent toning. A marvelous specimen!
