Ancient Coinage of Caria, Alinda

Alinda, on a hilltop above modern-day Karpuzlu, western Turkey, struck coins from the 3rd century BC to the 3rd century AD. The remains of the city include a necropolis of Carian tombs, a Roman aquaduct, a nearly-intact market place, a 5,000-seat Roman amphitheatre, and numerous temples.
