Rome Rep Denarius *M Volteius/ Lion Chariot Roman Republic denarius minted ca. 78 BC, minted under name of M. Volteius. Obverse features helmeted bust of Attis or young Corybas, with a symbol behind head, the reverse features Cybele seated in a high seat chariot drawn by two lions. This is a more expensive type than the usual Roma/Chariot types. It is referenced in RSC as Volteia 4, for 60 British pounds (most Rome Rep coins list in this ref. for 25-30 British pounds). Coin grades F+/F++, nicely centered, toning in recesses, and is of good silver.
