December 27, 1999 Lot: 38 Rome. Ancient. Roman Bostra. Trajan. drachm. (Bostra) Capture of Arabia. Trajan/Arabia and camel. silver. Grade:VF '98-117 A.D. Obv.: Bust of Trajan right/Rev.: Arabia stands left with camel. This coin was struck to the same standard as the denarius, however being struck at a provincial Mint it was known as a drachm. The obverse legend is in Latin with reverse in Greek. Considering that Trajan turned his attentions to the East in 113 A.D. this coin was probably struck late in his reign. [L534381] Next Bid: $70.00
