Bithynia, Nicaea. AE22. Severus Alexander 222-225 AD. M AYR CEVH ALEXANDROC, laureate, draped bust right, seen from the back. NIKAIEWN, Serapis, modius on head facing standing facing, holding sceptre in left hand, right arm extended, tripod to left towering above the walls of Nicaea with branches to left and right cf CNG CoinID=138326 RecGen-, Aulock-, SNG Cop-, McClean-, Mionnet-. etc. One city walls type is known for Macrinus (SNG Cop 543) and one for Quietus (SNG Cop 534) but without the figure of Serapis. CNG sold one of these, Ray Wilk (this coin) has another, Dan Kinney has another, so there are probably several out there and it is strange that is not recorded anywhere.
