     SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS. Sestertius; struck in Roma in 195 AD. Laureate
     head of Septimius Severus right. L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP V /
     Helmeted Minerva standing left, holding round shield and spear
     (PALLADIUM). The reverse represents the PALLADIUM, this votive
     statue that ENEE took away from Troie, shoulding his father
     Anchise. Septimius Severus appears like the restorator of the
     tradition. Not recorded in SEAR Roman Coins 1988. RIC IV part I
     #689 (page 185) SCARCE. FINE, nice portrait, pleasant green
     Patina, 26-28 mm., 24.7 grammes.
