Philip I, AE17 of Deultum, Thrace, 2 8g. PHILIPPVS IMP M I, laureate, draped, cuirassed bust left, holding spear and shield. C-F P-D in two lines across fields, beehive on a base. Varbanov 3041 corr. (rev. description) Notes: Varbanov 3041 has the obverse legend PHILIPPVS IMP M IVL, but the illustrated coin may be missing the end of the obverse legend. Also, Varbanov has the bust type for the book's 3043 plate incorrect which describes the beehive on a temple (similar to the known type of Philip II), but on this coin it appears to be a simple base or stand.
