Maximianus. (286-305 AD). Gold aureus (5.46 gm). Cyzicus, 291 AD. 
MAXIMIANVS—AVGVSTVS, head laureate left / CONSVL III P P PROCOS, 
emperor, togate and radiate, seated left on curule chair, holding 
Victory on globe and short scepter. Depeyrot 11/7 (p. 135, 19 
specimens). RIC 610 (R3, misattributed to Antioch). Calico 4624 
(this coin). Cohen 79 (citing Vienna, 200 Fr.). Virtually mint 
state. 

The figure of the emperor on the reverse is clearly wearing a 
radiate crown, an interesting fact not mentioned in any of the 
catalogues we consulted.
