Hadrian tetradrachm of Alexandria, Nilus inscribing the number "16" which was considered the optimal flood height for the Nile. Subject: [Moneta-L] Dating a Hadrian Alex Drachm Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2000 13:10:02 -0500 From: Bill To: Moneta-L@egroups.com I have 2 common Hadrian Nilus drachms, Milne 1264-9, with L-delta-W-delta-EK in the exergue, but I-gamma next to the cornucopiae. According to to Milne the exergual inscription relates to RN 12, but the I-gamma to RN 13. One can be seen at http://kernunnos.com//coins/Hadrian/had_AlexDr_M1266.jpg I feel I am missing something obvious?? Any help would be appreciated.
