PARTHIC DIVI TRAIAN AVG F P M TR P COS PP around, ADOPTIO below, Trajan and Hadrian standing facing each other, clasping hands.

Trajan never officially adopted Hadrian to succeed him. Coins suggesting this were simply to avoid civil unrest about the succession.
