Gordian III and Serapis AE27 Pentassarion of Dionysopolis, Moesia Inferior. Obv: ANTWNIOC GOPDIANOC AVG / AVT KM, confronted busts of Gordian and Serapis Rev: DIONVCO-POLEITWN, Dionysos naked, standing facing, holding cantharos above head and bunch of grapes (?) (thyrsos ?), panther at foot right. Value "E" in left field. Moushmov 120 var. (Moushmov and Varbanov describes Dionysus as holding a thyrsos but their examples are a mirror image of this coin - this seems to be a bunch of grapes.) Contributed by Dane, August, 2006.
