   HD Constantine II ex. rare bust / equine type

     Constantine II as Caesar, AE3, (3.55g) Struck 323 AD, Trier Mint,
     CONSTANTINVS IVN N C Laureate and cuirassed bust left, spear and
     shield decorated with two soldiers on right arm, holding horse by
     bridle with right hand. / BEATTA TRAN * * * QVILLITAS Altar
     inscribed VO TIS XX, .STRU in exergue. cf. RIC415(R4) (this
     variety with the two soldiers on the shield noted in a footnote
     from an example in the British Museum) F/VG, dark patina, the
     reverse fields tooled. An unusual and extremely rare bust type.
