Tyntenes, ca 500 – 480 BC. A Thrace-Macedonian occupying an area between the bay of Termai and the bay of Strimon.
Autonomous silver coins.
6903: AR Stater. TYNTENO or TYNTENON. Soldier, wearing short tunic, restraining a horse, which is running right. / Shallow incuse square with wheel like symbol within. 20–23 mm, ca 9-6 g. (This coin was found close to Sadovik, a region of Tran). Another is in the Paris Cabinet (ex Le Berre collection) and it is listed in Berlin (Sallet in ZfN III); Babelon, Traité II-1, 1555; AMNG II, 40-46. Plate XLVIII 21.
