BEROEA - in the region of Emathia at the eastern foot on the Bermios mountains. The town received the title of metropolis and newkoria twn sebastwn from Nerva. Modern day Kara-Veria.

6146. Dated AD 243-244. AΛEΞANΔΡOY. Helmeted head of Alexander III right. / KOIN MAKE B NEΩ BEΡIE. Young man standing, loins draped, standing left, holding whip in left arm and a patera over burning altar. To the left is a table with two prize urns, each containing a palm branch, and - behind the altar - is a column surmounted by an amphora or voting urn, date EOC in upper field. AMNG 2. 26 mm.
6147. AΛEΞANΔΡOY, youthful head of Herakles right, wearing lionskin headdress. / KOI MAKEΔONΩN B NEΩ BEΡOIΩ, Hygieia seated left by altar, feeding a serpent arising from it. AMNG 1; Berlin 1.
