SICILY: Syracuse. Ca. 467-460 BC. AR tetradrachm (17.37 
gm).

Slow quadriga right, above Nike flying right to crown 
horses / Head of Arethusa right, wearing pearl necklace 
and beaded diadem under which hair tucked up behind, 
four dolphins around. Cf. Boehringer 177 (V78/R122) 
(same obverse die, new reverse die). Surfaces slightly 
rough in isolated areas. Toned. Good very fine
