[Anokhin 194]
Phanagoria or Phanagoria, on the Taman Peninsula, just east across the water from the Tauric Chersonese, in Pontos (or Bosporus). For a short time in 14-12 BC it was renamed Agrippia and Kaisareia, in honour of Agrippa for his support of King Polemo I.
