Herod I RARE Aphlaston, Biblical/Judean This RARE and interesting coin is part of the dated series of the coins of Herod the Great. They are dated "year 3" of his Tetrarchy, which was 37 BC, the first year he was actually in charge of all of Judea. Herod I the Great, 40-4 BC, bronze prutah of 14.4 mm, 1.41 grams. Obverse: Aphlaston (ship's prow decoration), date and TP (Tetrarch) monogram. Reverse: Palm branch flanked by two objects. Reference: Hendin-489.
