     Lucius Sestius served as proquaestor to Brutus in Macedonia, and
     it was during this proquaestorship that he struck coins. The
     reverse type of this coin refers to the office of pontifex, to
     which Brutus had been elected. Sestius, although he cultivated
     the memory of his commander, eventually earned the friendship of
     Augustus, who made him consul suffectus in 23 BC.
