AR Tetradrachm. EF. An AR tetradrachm of Alexander II, of the Seleukid Kingdom (128-123 BC), struck at Damascus during 123/122 BC. References: SNG Spaer 2431; Sear 7115 var. Condition: Extremely Fine. Obv. Diademed head right of Alexander. Rev. Zeus enthroned left, holding Nike and scepter; below throne, monogram; in exergue, JR = S.E. 185 = 128/127 BC. Alexander II (Zebina) claimed to be an adopted son of Alexander Balas, and rebelled against Demetrios II.
