                        EPIRUS. Epirote Republic. 238–168 BC. AR drachm (4.10 
                        gm). Head of Zeus Dodonaeus right, crown with oak, ΠΟ 
                        monogram under chin, monogram behind head / ΑΠΕΙ—ΡΩΤΑΝ, 
                        eagle with closed wings standing right on thunderbolt, 
                        oak wreath around. Apparently not represented in Franke. 
                        Toned. Nearly very fine

                        January 1954.
