                ORC2405 Amphipolis drachm Facing Apollo VF

[Image] Amphipolis, Macedonia, AR drachm, (2.70g) c. 370 BC, Head   [Image]
        of Apollo facing slightly right, hair disheveled, wearing
        laurel wreath, vigorous Classical style. / AMŲ IPO LIT WN
        on raised frame containing race torch. S1380. VF, flan
        crack, porosity and some pitting, but still attractive at
        some level. Extremely rare. A similar example, that was
        toned Nice VF sold for $3750 + commission as CNG 60 #239.
        This is obviously less nice. Still it is a rarity.
