        S922; BMC66; Boeringer402. Toned G / F, 20% chip, obverse
        rough. Demarete, wife of Gelon, intervened on behalf of the
        defeated Carthaginians, who, in gratitude, presented her
        with one hundred talents of gold. It was from the proceeds
        of this gift that the special coinage is supposed to have
        been produced. Perhaps the worst known example by this
        early master engraver.
