                                Description

     Magnus Maximus is traditionaly a hard emperor to collect as to
     the few coins that have been on the market. Magnus was featured
     in Rudyard Kiplings famous fiction "Puck of Pook's Hill" where he
     is supposed to be the one that stuck the sword in the stone that
     was later retrieved by King Arthur. We do know however, that he
     was ruler of Britain, Gaul, Spain and North Africa. The obverse
     of this coin features Magnus facing right with the legend D N MAG
     MAXIMVS PF AVG. The reverse features Magnus standing, raising a
     kneeling female, and holding victory. The reverse legend is
     REPARATIO REIPVB (RCV 4203 for 75 British pounds). Coin grades
     VF/aVF, coin is nicer than depicted in scan, the head of the
     emperor and victory on the reverse are present and visible. Coin
     is guaranteed authentic and as described. Buyer pays $3.00 sh/ins
     in the US.
