                               Emperor AD 350

                               Centenionalis

 After the death of Constans, the soldiers of the Illyrian army proclaimed
   their commander, Vetranio, emperor. Vetranio immediately expressed his
    loyalty to Constantius and held Magnentius (another claimant to the
   empire) in check while Constantius settled affairs in the East. At the
   end of the year Constantius arrived to take command. Vetranio formally
                         abdicated in his presence.
