Description Theodora, 2nd wife of Constantius I, S-3911. Very similar to the Helena coin that I just posted. Tiny, smaler than a dime, only 15mm in diameter. Decent portrait of Theodora and very very nice detailing on the reverse. As I'm looking at this coin, this isn't an AE3 that was clipped down to 15mm, it was definitely struck at this size. The obverse and reverse devices and legends are centered and some legend is barely crowded out. Obverse: FL.MAX.THEODORA AVG, draped and diademed bust right. Reverse legend is: PIETAS ROMANI (piety of the Roman people?) Coins of these later Roman ladies are hard to find and only lists this one for Theodora. Valued at 30 pounds in VF. This coin is F obverse, VF reverse. Faint green patina and nice overall. Buyer pays $0.85 postage, 2 week return period, checks (U.S. funds) must clear.
