                CSA GALERIUS FOLLIS SEAR 3718 GENIO AVGVSTI

    GALERIUS A.D. 305 - 311: Caius Galerius Valerius Maximianus. Caesar,
   293-305; Augustus, 305-311.  Created Caesar by Diocletian. Was beaten
   by the Persians, but subsequently inflicted a great defeat upon them.
     Extremely inimical to Christians and probably had much to do with
      persuading Diocletian to persecute them.  As emperor he elevated
             Licinius to the rank of Caesar.  He died in 311.
