     Carus AD 282-283 Antoninianus Sear 3406 Spes advancing left
     reverse. Upon the death of Probus, Carus, the praetorian prefect,
     was proclaimed emperor. He set out on an expedition against the
     Persians which began very successfully but Carus was struck by
     lightning in his camp near Ctesiphon. Buyer pays $3.00 postage
