                                  Silver antoninianus of Aemilian, one of the scarcer late
                                  Emperors. IMP.AEMILIANVS.PIVS.FEL.AVG., radiate and draped
                                  bust to r. of Aemilian./ROMAE AETERNA, helmeted Roma stg. to
                                  l. hld a eagle on a globe, spear, & shield.

                                  Condition: Choice very fine, for a full silver antoninianus,
                                  with an excellent portrait of this scarece late Emperor.

                                  Notes: Aemilian, a late Roman Empror from the East annonces
                                  Romae Aeterna which in this case was wishfull thinking as he
                                  lasted less than a year. The antoninianus was now worth two of
                                  the silver denarii in a period of turbulent economic times.
