                                Description

     Roman silver coin struck from 251-253 A.D., during the short rule
     of Volusian, who was murdered along with his father in 253 A.D.
     The denomination is known as the silver Antoninianus. Fine to VF
     detail, large planchet with some spotting on the reverse,
     otherwise toned medium silver-gray over the silver metal. The
     particular type is Sear variety #2825, with Pax standing and
     facing left on the reverse, holding a spear and a branch. Obverse
     legend reads: "IMP CAE C VIB VOLVSIANO AVG". Reverse legend
     reads: "PAX AVGG".
