               Roman Emperor Domitian 81 - 96 AD as Augustus

                       + AR Denarius minted 88 - 89 AD in Rome
                       + RSC (SRS) 244
                       + IMP. CAES. DOMIT. AVG. GERM. P.M. TR.P. VIII
                       + IMP XVII COS XIIII CENS. P.P.P.
                       + Reverse is Minerva standing left and holding
                         a spear. Minerva is the Roman equivalent to
                         the Greek Pallas Athene. She is a like
                         goddess but also was associated with wisdom
                         and the arts.
                       + Domitian was killed by a conspiracy involving
                         his wife Domitia. He was so hated that at his
                         death the Senate issued a Damnatio Memoriae
                         against Domitian's name and image. Many
                         sculptures, buildings and even coins were
                         destroyed in the process.
                       + I sometimes use conservative reserves to
