Augustus, AR denarius, (3.33g) Rome Mint, CAESAR AVGVSTVS Laureate head
right. / [DI]VVS IVLIVS Comet, of seven rays, tail above. RSC 98. Fine,
obverse banker's mark on neck, fairly full flan.

Haley's comet was recorded shortly after the death of Julius Caesar. The
comet was interpreted as "The Julian Star," a divine sign of the late
dictator's divinity.
