            Electrum aspron trachy (2.93 gm). Thessalonica, ca. 1234-1235 AD. 
            Bust of Christ facing, bearded and nimbate, raising right hand in 
            benediction and holding book of Gospels in left, IC XC to left and 
            right / MAN… around, MHP—[ÈV] in upper field, full-length figure of 
            emperor standing front, holding labarum-headed scepter and 
            anexekakia, being crowned by Virgin nimbate, who stands front beside 
            him. DO 1. Sear 2174. Toned extremely fine.
