            BYZANTINE EMPIRE: Manuel I, Comnenus (AD 1143-1180). EL aspron 
            trachy (4.49 gm). Christ enthroned facing, IC-XC and stars on either 
            side / Manuel standing facing with St. Theodore, both holding 
            between them patriarchal cross with large globus at base. Sear 1959. 
            BMC 27-30. Face of Christ somewhat flatly struck, but a crisp, 
            detailed reverse. Graffito unobtrusively placed at 9 o'clock on 
            obverse. Nearly extremely fine.
