            gm). Constantinople, c. 989. ÈCE bÈ, TOIS bASILS', facing bust of 
            Virgin, nimbate, wearing pallium and maphorium, and holding before 
            her the infant Christ, whose nimbate facing head is depicted; in 
            field to left, monogram MHP, to right, ÈV with line above both; 
            triple border / + MER ÈU (line above both) DEDOIASM O EIS SE ELÐIZWn 
            OU C AÐOT X in five lines, cross formed of dots beneath inscription; 
            triple border. DO 19. Sear 1809. Very rare. Slightly wavy flan. 
            Extremely fine.
