            solidus (4.41 gm). Constantinople. G APTAUASDOS MULT, facing bust of 
            Artavasdus, wearing crown and chlamys, and holding patriarchal cross 
            before him / G NIChFORUS MULTUM, facing bust of Nicephorus, wearing 
            crown and chlamys, and holding patriarchal cross before him. DO 2. 
            Sear 1542. Small cluster of hairlines in field above left side of 
            Nicephorus’ crown on reverse. One of the classic rarities of the 
            entire Byzantine series. Mint state.
