  Apollo right; pick axe behind / Diana in galloping biga right; L. VALERIVS in
  exergue. Crawford 474/5; Sear, CRI 94; Sydenham 1002; BMCRR 4110; Valeria 20. VF,
  light obverse porosity, die break on reverse at horses' heads. Scarce type. Estimate
  $200.



  Sear maintains that Sol could be a reference to eastern affairs, which may relate to
  Caesar's military successes in Egypt and Asia Minor in 48-47 BC. He also postulates
  that Sol may be an allusion to the presence of Cleopatra in Rome.
