ROMAN REPUBLIC: P. Servilius M.f. Rullus, 100 BC, AR denarius 
(4.02g), Rome. Cr 328/1 variety; Syd 601 variety; Seaby 
Servilia 14 variety. Bust of Minerva left, wearing crested 
Corinthian helmet and aegis, RVLL behind (This coin is 
unpublished with RVLL, all publications list this issue with 
RVLLI) / Victory holding reins and palm branch in biga with 
rearing horses right, control letter P under horses, 
PoSERvilioMoF in exergue, excellent metal and detail, some 
lustrous iridescent toning in protected areas, 18.6 mm; Die 
axis 1.0. 
Estimated Value $550 - 750. 

Seaby suggests that these coins were struck with silver 
withdrawn from the public treasury, and that the issue was 
therefore a special one. This issue is unpublished with the 
obverse legend RVLL making this coin very rare and possibly 
unique (being the only one known).
