Description [Image] Roman Republic, AR denarius, Q. Pomponius Musa, c. 66 B.C.E., Seaby Pomponia 22, Crawford 410/8. 18mm. Obverse: Head of Apollo right, laureate; a star in the left field. Reverse: Urania (muse of Astronomy) standing facing forward and a bit to the left, pointing a wand at a globe on a tripod. [Q.] POMPONI on the right side; MVSA on the left side. Condition is aF/F+, but several (ancient) bankers' marks and scratches; slightly off-center, with the star on the obverse and, on the reverse, the Q in the inscription and Urania's head suffering as a result. Scarce. There IS a reasonable reserve on this item. [Image] Coin is guaranteed authentic.
