                                Description

     This piece was minted circa 103 BC under the authority of the
     moneyer Q.Thermus M.f. The obverse of this type depicts the
     helmeted head of Mars left. The reverse features two warriors
     fighting, the one on the left protecting a fallen comrade, the
     one on the right wearing a horned helmet, with ligatured legends
     Q.THERM.M.F. in the exergue. This type records the brave deeds of
     the moneyer's ancestor and namesake, who was consul in 193 BC. He
     was engaged in a severe contest with the Ligurians, and is said
     to have distinguished himself by his bravery. Coin shows some
     striking weakness, but otherwise grades Near EF, with bold
     devices and legends where struck up, and even a bit of the
     original lustre evident in the protected areas. A very choice
     example of this popular combat themed type, catalouged as Minucia
     19. All coins guaranteed genuine without limitations. Buyer pays
