Roman Republic, L. Censoninus, circa 82 BCE, silver
denarius, 17-18 mm. Obverse : laureate head of Apollo right.
Reverse : L. CENS(OR.) in left field - Marsyas walking left
holding wine skin over shoulder, victory on column on right.
Grade gF or better. Old dark toning, very good rendering,
with even honest wear. There are a few very light scratches
on highest points of portrait, but nothing serious. A short
provenance from the previous owner is included with this
