                                Description

     This piece was minted circa 113-112 BC, under the authority of
     the moneyer P. Nerva. The obverse of this type features the head
     of Roma left, holding spear and shield, with * before, crescent
     above, and the legend ROMA behind. The reverse features the
     legend P.NERVA above a scene of three citizens voting in the
     comitium, with a tabella inscribed P above. It was C. Licinius
     Crassus, the tribune, who in 145 BC first brought together the
     tribes into separate enclosures to vote in the comitia, and in
     139 BC, the ballot was introduced for the election of the
     magistrates. This scene shows the mode of voting in the comitia.
     Coin shows a bit of reddish patina, but otherwise grades a nice
     F+, with clear devices and nearly complete legends. A nice
     example of the type, catalouged as Licinia 7. All coins
     guaranteed genuine without limitations. Buyer pays
     postage/insurance, coin shipped on clearance of funds. PA
