                                Description

     This piece was minted circa 91 BC under the authority of the
     moneyer D. Silanus L.f. The obverse type depicts the diademed
     head of Salus facing right, with the ligatured legend SALVS
     below, letter below chin, all within ornamented torque. The
     reverse features Victory in biga right, with ROMA below the
     horses, and D.SILANVS.L.F. in the exergue. Coin grades a nice
     F+/F, with clear devices and most legends visible. A nice example
     of this much scarcer type of D. Silanus, catalouged as Junia 18.
     Buyer pays postage/insurance, coin shipped on clearance of funds.
