Description [Image] OFFERS a denarius featuring the bust of a Gaulish warrior, said to be Vercingetorix, with a Gaulish shield behind. The reverse shows a naked warrior in a Biga. This coin and its types refers to Julius Caesar's campaign in Gaul and the valiant, though futile, struggle of Vercingetorix, the fierce warrior chieftain of the Gauls, against the Romans.The coin was struck circa 48 B.C., four years before Caesar's assassination. It was struck by the moneyer L. Hostilius Saserna. Sear RSC Hostilia 2 or 2a. The coin is in Fine (F) condition with slightly granular surfaces and an oval flan. The item is guaranteed to be authentic and as-described, without time limit. U.S. customers add $7.00 to the winning bid for postage/insurance.
