Roman Republic - Silver Denarius Obverse: Diadem and draped bust of Diana right, wearing cruciform ear-ring and double necklace of long pendants, bow and quiver on shoulder; GETA before, III VIR behind. Reverse: Calydonian boar right, pierced in shoulder by spear, attacked by dog; C HOSIDI C.F in exergue. Condition: FDC, Coin at auction is much, much better than picture. This coin has beautiful lustrous surfaces with minty silver smooth perfect metal. Razor sharp detail on both sides. Both sides are well centered and obverse has good relief. Diana is exquisite, Calydonian boar is sharp, artful and entirely on flan. This coin is spectacular. Valuation: Why Valuation? The relief, detail, razor sharp strike, and lustrous mint surfaces of the coin at auction makes it an extraordinary example of this coin. Sear Millennium values it at $96 in VF and $280 in EF.
