                                Description

     This piece was minted circa 119 BC, under the authority of the
     moneyer M. Furius L.f. Philus. The obverse type features the
     laureate head of Janus, with legends M.FOVRI.L.F. around. The
     reverse depicts Roma standing left, erecting a trophy, with
     legend ROMA at right, and the ligatured legend PHLI in the
     exergue. Coin shows an obverse banker's mark and a bit of reddish
     patina, but otherwise grades F/AF, with mostly clear devices,
     partial legends, and a solid Janus head on the obverse. A decent
     and affordable example of this popular type, which is catalouged
     as Furia 18. Buyer pays postage/insurance, coin shipped on
