Dioscuri, (twin gods Castor and Pollux), wearing laureate pilei (liberty
caps) with stars above. / Venus Verticordia stands left holding scales and
a scepter, with Cupid over her shoulder, MN CORDIVS to right. Struck 46
B.C. as part of the coinage distributed at Julius Caesar's quadruple
triumph, when each legionary soldier received 5,000 denarii. HCRI 63;
