                                Description

     This piece was minted circa 46 BC, under the authority of the
     moneyer T. Carisius. The obverse type depicts bust of Victory
     facing right, with SC behind. The reverse type features Victory
     in a quadriga right, with legend T.CARISI in the exergue. This
     was one of several types issued by this moneyer to honor the
     triumphs or family traditions of Julius Caesar. Coin shows some
     reddish colour on both obverse and reverse, but otherwise grades
     AF, with mostly clear major devices and clear legends. Coin is
     not as dark as the scan makes it appear. A decent and affordable
     example of this scarcer type, catalouged as Carisia 3. Buyer pays
     postage/insurance, coin shipped on clearance of funds. PA
